DIY vintage ribcage shredder sweater dress, vintage skintight mini, DIY faux fur muff chain bag, DIY black turban and DIY studded stacked platform t-straps
INSPIRATION:
Oblina from Ahhhhh, Real Monsters!
All winter break my son, Ephraim, has been watching Ahhhhhh Real Monsters on Netflix. And now he's just as obsessed with it as I was, when I was a kid!! So when I found this turtleneck sweater while thrifting last Wednesday, I was like OBLINA!!! As soon as I got home I took to shredding it front and back but not the center for a ribcage effect. LOOOOOOOVE IT!! Don't worry, I've made others for the shop, plus you can buy this one too(it's the only stripe one)!! YAAAAAAY! The store should be up and running soon. I'm trying to get everything on a schedule before I start my new job. Mama's gonna need a new car if she wanna have a baby, hahaha!
Anywho, How was everyone's New Years?? My was pretty frickin AWESOME!! It like my first real adult NY, you know!! Civilized drinking, actual conversations other "WOOOOOOOOH 2011" every other sentence, not a single girl dressed like Lady GaGa with a puffy dress and a bow, no one shoving blow up your nose cause it the only fun thing to do and it wasn't at a lame house party!! Houston has a bad habit of throwing house parties. What's next a Jammy Jam?? Hahahaha!! It was just food, drinking and dancing. Maybe I will do it the Joel way next year??
It's getting close to my 1 year and I just wanted to thank you guys for all the support you have given me through and through. Old or new readers I LOVE YOU ALL the same!!
Kisses,
Virgin

The stripes look great and I love how at a distance the shedding gives the garment a drape quality like a flapper dress or something. Happy 2011 girl!! All the best x

Ha. I've been looking to do this with this one sweater I own, but I've never shredded before, so I think I'll wait until I've got some under my belt. It looks great. Always a fan of stripes. DIY turban? No way, that's cool. Will have to look that up. Also dig the shots.
I like your style :))

Found your blog via Modcloth and just wanted to say how much I'm enjoying your style! It's a real inspiration to see you wearing one-of-a-kind pieces that you so obviously love, and doing it cheaply too. (especially as I am working to expand my own personal style, but am still a bit too shy to wear some of the attention-grabbing things I've thrifted.)
So...thanks for sharing and inspiring!
Hehehe I'm your stalker umm.. i mean follower #1401 ;)
