(everything thrifted from head to toe except JC woodies)
vintage suede fringe jacket borrowed from Ephraim, vintage Hebrew Budweiser tee, vintage American Flag shorties with customized eyelet lace by me, DIY floral headband, vintage Azteca clutch, 80s Purple Lennon round sunnies, vintage oversized cross/bangles, Jeffrey Campbell Solvang woodies and B.E. rings
When you're the "Queen of Vintage" a floral crown is in order!! Yes I've become obsessed, DUH!
Now that the 70s is nipping at my heels, I just wanna set it free. Peace, love and vintage EVERYTHING! Americana, fringe, Lennon sunnies, platforms and flowers. Don't you hear that music playing as you sit out on the grass as the sun pass? Man dude I seriously have to stop smoking, hehe!!
School's almost out,,,YAY! No more privileged spoiled brats! So happy I'm not raising Ephraim to think his shit smells like roses and Chanel No 5. OVER IT but I'll be back. I'm more excited for Summer! I'm moving in June so I'll have a new place to shoot. Fingers crossed that I get this sweet place I've been eying. Every room is a different color and the yellow one is a sun room!! Ugh I love natural lighting!!
Well that's it. Love you all soooooo much! I have the BEST blogger buddies in the world. Thank you for all the love back. If you're new don't be scared to holla at me!

(everything thrifted from head to toe except tee)
vintage straw boater hat, vintage stripe sailor skort, vintage nautical oxford shoes, gray semi circle tee, vintage "things" bag from Darine, F21 multi chain necklace, vintage cross necklace, vintage bangles and B.E. rings
At first I was going to start this post all heys and hi with sprinkles and unicorns on top but there's one issue I need to address. My weight! At first I was just going to ignore it but it's beginning to get pretty fuckin' ANNOYING! For the past 2 months I've been receiving nasty emails about being anorexic. Sorry sweeties but I'm 5'4, very petite and naturally skinny. I have been thin my WHOLE ENTIRE LIFE!! It really boils my butter cause I got picked on in middle and high school for being too skinny. You know the stereotype that black women should have voluptuous bodies with hips, ass and breasts?? Well I don't have any of that and I've learned to LOVE my 12 yr old boy body...thank you very much!! In all honesty have you ever seen an anorexic girl with an ass and thigh like this? Exactly!! I'm FUCKING HEALTHY!!
Also some people are just blessed with good genes. You should see my Mom...she's 5'9 and weighs 120lb after having 4 kids! And I know for a fact she's not anorexic. So in conclusion I will probably be skinny FOREVER, so get over it! Do your goddamn research of what anorexia really is before emailing me about it.
Before I go I just wanted to thank all my readers who support and love me for who I am! I will never stop saying and doing whatever the fuck I wanna do!  I'm sooooo happy you guys get that about me.

For those of you who just aren't ready to colorblock a whole entire outfit! Take baby steps and start off with your accessories. Here are some of my favorite vintage shoes and bags, I'll be reppin' all Summer!

vintage art deco lounge jacket, AA crop tee and slim maxi skirt courtesy of American Apparel, vintage Sienna hat, vintage crochet customized fringe bag, vintage DIY studded stacked platforms, vintage chain belt, turquoise cross necklace from Darine, vintage multi cross necklace, vintage bangles and B.E. rings
It's official I'm OBSESSED with slouchy lounge jackets, cover ups...whatever! It can make something so simple, like B&W, look like you put in a lot of effort. Especially if you're lucky to find one with bold colors and such a neat-o art deco print. I just love the flow and "that all eyes on me" effect it gives.
Well over the weekend Joel has been watching his 1940s detective flicks over and over. So I actually drew a lot of inspiration from the male characters. Of course I virginized it with a burst of color and a fringe bag! Too bad I can't be a real detective, you would be able to spot my ass a mile away!
Soooooooo the weather has cooled down but it's definitely back on the rise. I'm so anxious to see what the Summer is going to be like! Probably FUCKIN' HOT but at least I'm going to spend half my Summer in another city. I try not to boast but I am just too excited!! I'm going from Buttfuck, TX to New York City!! It's like when Country Mouse visits City know the Tom and Jerry episode??  Hahaha!! Yeah it's going to be fucking sweet. I'm dying to see Ephraim's reaction. He loves to see different types of people and styles. It'll be fun to show him that I'm not crazy. Other people dress like this everyday too!
Before I go I just wanted to thank everyone who understood where I was coming from in my last post. I'm no blog guru...just a normal Texas girl who enjoys blogging for real and not from a commercial stand point. I also wanted you to know that I don't have over the top camera equipment with lighting. Just me and my tripod! I like being the underdog. While others are waiting for the elevator, I rather take the stairs! That's just me. My Mom always said I like to do things the hard way.

make avatar
(Self portrait. Drawing yourself is hard! I give mad props to the illustrators of the world.)
I get a lot of emails asking these 3 questions the most. So I thought I'd try and answer them on my blog.

1. Who takes your pictures?

Majority of the time, I do. It's just little ole me lugging around my equipment and hitting the button and run. I've grown to love and understand my camera and tripod. I use a Nikon D3000 and a tripod that extends up to 6 ft. It may take some time but I've gotten used to it!
Now as for Ephraim...he only helps me on the weekends or when he's in the mood. Maybe one day my baby will be the next great photographer but right now he's too busy being a boy.

2. Where do you go thrifting?

Family Thrift, Value Village, Goodwill, Salvation Army, Buffalo Exchange...etc etc. I usually travel outside of Houston for the real treasures. The trick is you have to look at EVERYTHING!! Even men's and children's.

 3. How did you get you blog out there ("popular")?

I honestly have NO CLUE!! I just thought I post pics on LB like everybody else. I think it's more of what my readers are doing than me. Word of mouth is a mutha!
The best advice I can give to you is to stay true to yourself and what your blog is about. Don't be so quick to sell out. I've seen soooo many blogs start off good. Then slowly they start taking any and every paid ad or free item they can get their hands on!  To the point you don't even recognize them anymore or what they're blogging for. Free shit is alright....ok I love free shit but if it doesn't fit my sense of style, budget or have nothing to do with what my blog stands for (I'm a personal style blogger btw) then I could care less or how free it is! You don't have to work with everyone who ask you. DUH!!
Also good quality photos never hurt and how many photos you use is important too. In the beginning you guys probably thought I was obsessed with myself! I used to have over 20 pics each post....DAMN! I've learned you have to cut back. No matter how many good shots you got. You have to try and tell your story within 5 to 10 shots. Leave them wanting more, not make them wish they were almost to the end of all your goddamn pictures!

Well I hope I was helpful in my answers. I know I suck at answering emails sometimes and I secretly HATE blog interviews. This was just an easier way for you to get to know me and how I do things.
Thanks for loving me,

vintage floral stripe shorties, Kan Dee triangle crop tee, DIY floral headband, vintage customized fringe crochet bag, heart garter nylons and turquoise cross necklace from Darine, Jeffrey Campbell Solvang woodies, vintage multi cross necklace, vintage bangles and B.E. rings
I think my specialty is finding things that are total opposites and force them to be friends! It's okay to mix it up...just don't go OVERBOARD. I've seen it like a thousand times. Their outfit would have been PERFECT if they weren't wearing three sweaters!! Layerhalics, you can't save them all.
I love to blend hard and soft together cause it's kinda like me. Sweet and innocent face but covered in tattoos with the mouth of a truck driver! Don't fuck with me, hehe!
My outfit came to me as I was driving Ephraim to school and I saw all the flowers had fallen to the ground like a white floral catwalk. It kinda reminded me of snow...PRETTY!!
I flew home to find Flora. I can honestly say these are my FAVORITE shorts. Another San Francisco treat. If they had a Wasteland in Houston I would probably work there for free! I'm going to be shopping more than working anyways! Just give me a fucking discount.
Well I don't know what's going on or what I did to keep drawing in new followers on a daily but I like it! If you're spreading the word about VV, THANK YOU SOOOOOO MUCH! I suck at being computer savvy and self promotion. Overall I'm just sooooo happy to have you all! I don't bite...unless you like that sorta thing!

I know I can't afford any of this shit but it doesn't hurt to be inspired! This is what I want to be dipped in ALLLLLL SUMMER...colors, rompers, cutouts and slouch!

vintage Victor Costa maxi dress I cut down the front, vintage destroyed denim shorties, vintage Smokey the Bear hat, AA white crop tee courtesy of American Apparel, Lulu's triple platform biker wedges with customized studs by me, oversized turquoise cross necklace from Darine, vintage multi cross necklace, vintage bangles and B.E. rings
If I you want anything online these days you have to literally PAY for it! Like an arm, leg, your first born and your kid's allowance for a year! Nowadays if I see something I go straight to my studio, find similar items and take the scissors to it. I used to feel for my clothes but now I understand it's JUST FASHION. This dress was a bit boxy and didn't fit well since I'm boobless. But it had a lot of potential with the color, print, sleeves and asymmetrical layered skirt. So I cut it down the middle and saved myself 120 BUCKS!! You like?? I like.
The heat is turning up in Houston but the nights are nice. (Lovin' those orange and purple skies!) I'm thinking of asking for a grill. I may be fuckin' skinny but I can throw down in the kitchen!! You won't catch me on the next Top Chef or anything but it taste good. I'm making crawfish on Friday for my friend, Teresa. Crawfish and Korean dramas, FUCK YEAH!! Really wish you guys can come.
Well I'm off to start preparing things for when Ephraim gets home. The king will have a heart attack if he doesn't have his snacks! Thank you guys for all the support. It's not easy being a blogger
 but somebody's gotta do it!
